Can you please send me the output of the phpinfo file that you can find in the administration panel of Joomla!. Please capture it some way and email it to admin at iobinary dot com. This may help me finally nail down what is blocking the XML-RPC communication that Blogg-X uses. If you are unfamiliar with the phpinfo command or just want more information here is a link to phpfreaks with some useful information.

Update (9-23-07) I have only recieved a couple phpinfo files and I haven't got a large enough range yet to start to figure out what the problem is. Once I get a few more in I should have a better picture of the problem. Thanks.

You can find the Blogg-X 2.13 release on the downloads page. Please keep any comments in the forum. NOTE: this version has only been updated to support Joomla! 1.0.13 and is backward compatible with the older versions of Joomla!. Also there is a new mambot included which needs to be installed on all the sites that this new version will be communicating with.

I have successfully modified Blogg-X to connect and verify on a Joomla! 1.0.13 installation. I had to perform changes in both the Blogg-X Java code and also in the mambot. I am now modifying Blogg-X to allow the user to specify J! 1.0.13 installs in the settings dialog of the application so that the same version of Blogg-X will work with both the new J! 1.0.13 and continue to work with the older versions. Keep an eye out here for the new release. Note this release will only be of changes to support the new version of Joomla! and contain no other fixes at this time.

Evidently Blogg-X has also been affected by the change in handling passwords that occurred with the Joomla 1.0.13 update.  As of now Blogg-X will NOT function correctly with this version because the password hash passed from Blogg-X to Joomla no longer works correctly and can't successfully validate against the Joomla database tables.  I am taking a look at the code and will provide an update once I have one available.

Also to those wishing to look at the source code for Blogg-X you can always find it in the directory to which Blogg-X is installed.  Specifically in the "source" folder and it does include the ".form" files for the NetBeans IDE.

I wanted to apoligize for my absence the last couple weeks. I have been in the process of moving from the southwest to northeast US, and buying a new house in the process. Between the unpacking, closing on the house, getting some new furniture and also starting a new job my spare time has been pretty much non existant. I think things have settled down enough again that I can resume my work here and provide some support in the forums.

In regards to the forums I will be turning off guest posting access because of a few spammers that have decided they liked my website. I really don't like locking the site down like this but every minute I spend deleting spam off the server is time I'm not working on code or helping out users. Most likely I will be locking down the frontpage comment section as well, but am going to try and hold off and see if they just decide to go away.

Anyway it's good to be back!!

If you downloaded the Mac version of Blogg-X 2.12 in the last couple days please redownload the version on the server and update both the application and the mambot. Unfortunately I uploaded an old test version on Monday evening instead of the actual bugfix version. I apoligize for the inconvienence.

I have just uploaded the new files onto the server. Here are the fixes applied to this version:

BUGFIX: Fixed password hash incorrectly dropping leading zero.

BUGFIX: Fixed empty height and width url entries causing problems with Internet Explorer.

BUGFIX: Fixed limited number of sites viewable in Account Settings window, now unlimited.

BUGFIX: Fixed numerous problems with hightlighting text in Intro and Main text fields.

BUGFIX: Fixed requirement for default Joomla! sections and categories, now works with any defined.

BUGFIX: Fixed progress bar not stopping correctly when posting is finished.

BUGFIX: Fixed publish frontpage action now waits for reordering to finish before declaring successfull.

BUGFIX: Fixed items published without a title, now title is checked for text and required.

BUGFIX: Fixed Save and Load posts (from hard drive) to support sections, categories and the remaining fields.

BUGFIX: Fixed sections and categories being property selected when loading previous posts from the server.

BUGFIX: Fixed Intro and Main text fields to use the same fonts.

BUGFIX: Fixed loading images to correctly determine image height and width (for local images).

BUGFIX: Fixed publishing output to be XHTML compliant, all posts should now be XHTML compliant.

BUGFIX: Fixed duplication of .xml extension to saved files on the hard drive.

Please report any errors or problems in the forums. This is a bugfix version only and contains no new features.

NOTE: The mambot must be updated on the remote server. Ensure that it is listed as version 2.12 in the mambot installer page.
