Hi everybody!

Well...I followed all the instructions above..but still I also can't connect to my Joomla shizznizz. I'm working on Mac osx..so my version of Blogg-X is 2.12.

Could it be that the instructions above only work in the 2.13 version which isn't available for Mac osx? Huh
And otherwise..could someone please help me with setting up the connection to Joomla??

Thanks y'all...

I use both Win XP & Mac OS X & the fix work great. Did you get the right code from your MySQL file to past in?

Thanks, Hasan.

This works like an angel with OSX, Joomla 1.0.13, remote Blogg-X 2.12 and server mambot 2.13.
(Much easier this way than trying to figure out installation of strange Blogg-X2_13_unix_2_13.sh file.)

- -

First open your Site's SQL Database. And find Jos_users table. Find user ID 62 with Superadministrator user. Select password field and copy ..
Open yor blogg-x\bin\setting.xml file with any text editor.
and chance (_password">XXXXXXXXXX</entry>)              XXXXXXXX with your copied password and save file .
Now it's ok  WORK FINE

I've gotta say, this solultion has not worked for me.  I am running Blogg-X 2.12 on MacOSX and I've tried the solution listed above, and I've tried installing and publishing both the 2.12 and the 2.13 version of the mambot on the site.  Whatever I do, I keep getting "Connection could not be established" when I try to verify my Joomla settings.

Another thing of note: I am using Joomla 1.0.14

Let me know your thoughts.

Hi there,

Here's what's happening for me.

I'm running blogg-x 2.13 (windows) and a joomla 1.0.12 and a joomla 1.0.13 site

I can set up the account and verify the username and password as well as ftp for both sites.

Both verify correctly

I can access the 1.0.12 site but when I try the 1.0.13 site blogg-x tells me "there was an error trying to get initial settings"

I tried the password fix. copying the password from joomla mysql table but that made no difference.

Any idea why it won't work for the 1.0.13 site?

Mark

 Attention ****ALL Mac OSX**** users

The process of looking at the jos_user file on your servers database then opening up blogg-x "package contents" you'll see a file called settings.xml open it in text edit and copy the really long password you grabed from your database and copy it in place of the almost as long password in the settings file. After which save and open up the program and you'll be good!

BIG PROBLEM! - Re: Password problem with joomla 1.013 SOLVED
« Reply #22 on: March 12, 2008, 08:07:58 PM »

I did all the above and Blogg X can't connect to my site.

HOWEVER, the real problem is that I acn't log back into my Joomla Admin!!! Cry

My site is completely locked down. I even used several methods to log into the dtabase from the backend to change the password and still no luck.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated...PLEASE
