Just trying out the new version and WHoopee it works on my system!

A couple of things that I have noticed, however.

When saving a post locally it does not remember the directory you last used by reverts back to C:

Also, saving as you go along means always finding the directory and re-entering the file name. It doesn't just save when you hit the save button.

When loading it doesn't remember the last location and again opens C:

A list of recent docs would be nice.

When inserting a picture it automatically creates a hyper link to the image. It would be nice if that was optional as normally I would not be linking my in-article images anywhere.

As a final non-windows thing, any chance of implementing the mos image system? That is really useful when using Joomla (especially when captioning) and it is a pity it is not available here.

But over all this is slowly getting there! Nice one.

Hi everybody!

Well...I followed all the instructions above..but still I also can't connect to my Joomla shizznizz. I'm working on Mac osx..so my version of Blogg-X is 2.12.

Could it be that the instructions above only work in the 2.13 version which isn't available for Mac osx? Huh
And otherwise..could someone please help me with setting up the connection to Joomla??

Thanks y'all...

Yes - that will be a good change.

Also, when I publish the post vanishes. It would be nice if it stayed in the editor until I decided to close it.

I'm trying to install BloggX 2.0.13 on a PC running Windows Vista. The install fails with the error "This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. It then pops up a box saying install4j can't find JAVA. I manually located JAVA, and the install continued. But now when I try and run BloggX, I get the same MSVCR71.dll error. I also can't uninstall the program, for the same error.

Does BloggX run on Vista? If so, can you help me out in resolving this error?

Thanks!

Ron S.

First of all thanks for all the work done on Blogg-X. Its an excellent app which saves us uploaders of content huge amounts of time.

Now for the problem I'm having.

I have a number of Joomla sites, one of which is still running under 1.012. Today I downloaded Blogg-X 1.013 and installed on my PC. I also installed it on one of my 1.013 Joomla sites.

Blogg-X still works nicely with my 1.012 site. As to my 1.013 site however I need to report that the Joomla username and password verify nicely and that the ftp info verifies as well.

When opening the site I get an error message I get the screen telling me that there was an error trying to get initial settings. . .

I'll try reinstalling to see if that helps and report back.

Best regards,

Alexander

UPDATE: reinstalling and overwriting options.xml and settings.xml makes no difference.
The version 1.012 site still works but 1.013 version gives same problems, even tough both verification processes went fine....

Dumbfounded,

AI

Hi,

I'm having the same problem. I downloaded the latest version of blog-x, setup an account and the ftp will verify OK but not the jooomla login.

No error message, just nothing. I've tried copying the password out of the database, using the unhashed password, ticking and unticking .13 to no avail.

I've installed and published the mambot.

regards
Samantha

Hi Dave,

I'm sure it's the 2.13. I uninstalled 2.12, deleted all settings left behind and installed 2.13.
I set up a couple of sites i have, the 1.0.12 site connected properly (tick box "joomla 1.0.13+" in account settings not ticked), however, blogg-x couldn't download any sections/categories/posts.

I emailed Chris the php info... hopefully there's a solution...

Weird question, but are you sure 2.13 is opening?  I noticed that when I first installed the new client (on a vista (ugh) pc), the installer reported that it was uninstalling 2.12, but when I went to open the new client, it was actually 2.12 that opened.  I had to uninstall blogg-x completely, and reinstall the new client (requiring me to re-enter all the site info in the accounts settings) to get 2.13 to open and work.

Thank YOU!  I'm back up and running with the new client.  Fabulous program.
