Rand Nix... You are correct in the last couple versions of Blogg-X the "Site Address" should be in the following format:

www.site.com/v3

If you are still having problems please PM me with details on the test account and I will see if I can figure anything out.

Thanks...

I also had trouble connecting to my website. Actually, I have 2 websites... one at www.misker.nl and that one is working fine. However, I also have one at qtg.fam.misker.nl, but that one wasn't working. I then changed my password to a more simple one.. and now it IS working. Strangely though, because I used the same password for both www.misker.nl and qtg.fam.misker.nl (and the first one was always working..)

Oh well, it works fine for me now. Great program!

But when finished got the same problem but inserted md5 pasword several times and applyed changes after that it works. I tried to enter the password not crypted with md5 again but it will not work that way..

So the same password hashed in md5 from Blogg-X and your external hashing program created different hashes?  And the external one is the one that matched the hash stored in the Joomla! database?  Did the password have any odd characters?

Thanks...

Well, my weirdness continues.

When I add qtg.fam.misker.nl, I fill in the right password and username, it doesn't work (user + password verification failed)... Then I add ANOTHER qtg.fam.misker.nl (so it's in my list 2 times), but then it does work!

Also, I first added qtg.fam.misker.nl and then www.misker.nl. For www.misker.nl, when I go to account settings, for the password field, I see the number of *'s which is equal to my password length. However, for qtg.fam.misker.nl (the first one, which doesn't work), I see many more *'s.

That is weird...

I just downloaded and installed both the Blogg-X application and the mambot.  Before you ask, I remembered to publish the mambot, yet I can't get the Joomla username and password to verify even using my superadmin login.  I get "There was an error trying to get the initial settings."  I created a new admin login set and get the same .. clicking verify gives no response at all.  The ftp settings verify.  I've followed all the suggestions listed above, including turning off my firewall.

In a possibly related issue, should I include www since the "live" site is shehu.eu, not www.shehu.eu?

I am getting the same problem with the many more *'s issue. Does anyone have any suggestions to get this to work? I don't know what to do.

Seeing the multiples "*" is what you should be seeing.  If you count them you should have 32, if you only have 31 let me know and I can give you some instructions on how to try and fix the problem.

Thanks...

I cannot get Blogg-X 2.11 to get the initial settings.  The user is defined as publisher (but also tried superadmin).  The mambot is published and is getting 'pinged' by Blogg-X Win client (see log entry). From the debug tracers I embedded in the mambot code, I can tell that the code is not executed at all when Blogg-X POSTS to it.  On the other hand, when I simluate a connection using GET, the code is executed with a 'blank' XML debug output.  The 403 looks suspicious.  The scripts were all CHMODded to 644 (even 777 didnt work).

Blogg-X ping in access Log: ***.***.***.96 - - [10/Aug/2006:07:50:26 -0400] "POST /mambots/blogg-x_2_0/blogg-x_server.php HTTP/1.1" 403 - "-" "Java/1.5.0_06"  <--No tracers activated in blogg-x_server.php.

Chris - I PM'd you the userid and password to the installation.  Please take a look and see what is preventing this excellent application from running.

Thanks,
