Hmm, can those with problems PM me with the site URL and a good username (publisher or admin level) and password for the site so I can try the remote debugging.

Thanks...

I think I might have found one problem.  I noticed on my site that the Blogg software was trying to access a directory on the server which didn't exist.  It was looking for ../mambots/blogg-x_2_12 which was actually named ../mambots/blogg-x_2_0.  I changed the directory on my server to the blogg-x_2_12 and I also changed the following lines in the blogg-x_server.php:

define( 'YOURBASEPATH', dirname(__FILE__) );
include( YOURBASEPATH . '/../../configuration.php' );
include( YOURBASEPATH . '/../../mambots/blogg-x_2_12/getdatabase.php' );
include( YOURBASEPATH . '/../../mambots/blogg-x_2_12/xmlrpc.inc' );
include( YOURBASEPATH . '/../../mambots/blogg-x_2_12/xmlrpcs.inc' );
require( YOURBASEPATH . '/../../includes/mambo.php' );

I also changed this line in the blogg-x_server.xml file so that the zip file now loads the files into the correct directory:

<mosinstall version="4.5.3" type="mambot" group="blogg-x_2_12">

Now I can verify both the Joomla Settings and the FTP Settings.

BUT, I still get the "There was an error trying to get intial settings...."

Don't know if this helps.  But it can't hurt.

All Mac users need to redownload Blogg-X 2.12.  I accidently posted an older test version from a few months ago.  I have uploaded the correct file onto the server.  Also please be sure to upload the new mambot from the mac installer or the seperate mambot file here on the server.

I apoligize!!  Gizzmo, thanks for the great catch, that's when I realized what I had done, I changed the mambot path on the test version so I could run the test and the public version at the same time.

Again, I am sorry, hopefully you guys can appreciate an honest mistake.

Thanks...

Chris:
I reinstalled your new version of both the application and the mambot and all is working perfectly once again.  Thanks for all your hard work on this.  To err is human...

I also changed this line in the blogg-x_server.xml file so that the zip file now loads the files into the correct directory:

<mosinstall version="4.5.3" type="mambot" group="blogg-x_2_12">

Now I can verify both the Joomla Settings and the FTP Settings.

BUT, I still get the "There was an error trying to get intial settings...."

Don't know if this helps.  But it can't hurt.

That's nice but a bit complicate for me (Sorry, I am a virgin in programming...)

Could we have a bug fix Chris? Also I PM you a login to my site.

Thx

roger... I am trying to get information from your webhost concerning the situation.  I will let you know what I find out, but it appears they have locked down the servers pretty tight but I am trying to find a way to get things working.

pulp... I will try and get with you this weekend.  Do you happen to have a skype account?  I am not a real fan of msn messanger because of the problems I had in the past with popups.

Thanks...

Hi Chris,

How are you doing? Were you able to find a solution to the problem? In my case I think it is just my provider who is too strict. So I will give up for now until I can move my site to another provider...

Thanks

Roger
