error tyring to get initial settings
« on: October 31, 2006, 09:38:20 AM »

I have set up my account settings, and the Joomla! Settings and FTP Settings both verify.  However, when I save them and click OK, I get "error trying to get initial settings."

I have the latest Blogg-X and mambot, and a new 1.0.11 Joomla installation.  My user is "publisher" status.  I have tried turning off the XP firewall, no help.

Is this a connection issue?  thanks

I've tried all the possible fixes to solve the initial settings problem (the forum mambot download, file permissions, etc.), and i'm still getting an error.  Is there anyway to narrow down the problem?
