Hi, I've installed Blogg-X on my PC and can connect to the demo.iobinary.com site, However I cannot connect to my installation mambot on my site.
I believe the problem is that the site I'm trying to connect to is password protected (htaccess file). Is there anyway to supply this username/password in addition to the joomla username and password?
It just might be the htaccess thing Andy......my BloggX was working perfectly until a friend did some htaccess changes for me. Thank you for this post actually, I was trying to figure out just what had changed to make my BloggX stop working...and your mention of htaccess made me realise that that is the only recent change to my site. Just hope there's a solution.

Thanks Julie I've put that 'protected' site on one side now, unresolved - I was using it to 'test drive' some of my ideas. I'm now happily working on another site that is not password protected.
Well, the "can't connect" problem is solved ( it was in fact a change made for security, in my htaccess.something to do with javascript). NOW though, I simply CANNOT copy/paste into the text box. Very frustrating. I also cannot change the author. :-( Back to the drawing board.
If you are trying to paste from Word, then there is a problem. There's another topic "Blogg-x not pasting text" http://www.iobinary.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,61/topic,154 which may be of interest. Basically you have to copy first into a simple text editor - something like notepad - then from there into BloggX. Hope that helps!
Julie... Do you know any specifics of the portion of the htaccess file that was causing the problems. It would probably be beneficial to other users and I would like to include it in the FAQ. Seems odd that it's something to do with javascript though because once the blogg-x data gets to the server it's all handled by php and mysql.
And there is indeed a problem with pasting from Word. It's a problem in Java itself and I am looking at ways to solve it for the upcoming version.
