Security access into settings

It would make the mod more flexible if you had it userid/password.

You cou use the site Logon/password from the initial setup, but not allow anyone back into settings w/o userId/password.

This way you allow non-site admins to create or edit blog information (like a secretary).

I would definitely agree especially If you want to take this great app to another level.

I would have loved to give this out to people who are contributing content to certain websites but i would need to give them the following details: host, db name, db-username & password, which I am certainly not going to do!

Please think of another way of authenticating, the idea of the user's username/password is excellent!

Hope this makes sense and more importantly - doable!

Keep up the good work!!!

FH... With the latest version of Blogg-X normal posts can be submitted by users with author, publisher, admin or super admin rights.  The only settings the users would need (after you have loaded the blogg-x mambot) would be their username/password and the site address.  If you wanted to give them access to using images in their posts you can create an ftp account for them locked to a specific directory and then in blogg-x they would just need to know the ftp address and the directory path along with their ftp username and password.

Hope that helps...

This is kind of related :-)

If there was a way to package the settings into an install package that I could say, send to a client so that they would have only to do an install on their machine and they would be up and running with no access to the settings and passwords this would be great. If I wanted to lock them out at some stage Ii just change user the password on the site...

Great idea anyhow and impressive documentation and design. Well done

Settings can be found in the Blogg-X installation directory then the "bin" directory in the file titled "settings.xml"

Hope that helps...sorry for the long time delay.
