hi, I'm trying to use thise software on a localhiost configuration. joomla is installed in teh htdocs folder of MAMP itself stayins in the applicatiosn folder. I can't give any pathway how do I have to make it so.  |

I am guessing that you have tried with "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" in the site address box already. I don't have any way of testing this locally.
Has anyone else tried this and confirm that it works or doesn't work?

help! it's still the same: blogg is unable to work in a loclahost config!!!
usually people should build in a localhost config their new site. And for the mac community it's relaly easy to do it. so, slhould someone help me???

tried it with Adress 127.0.0.1 and ---it works!
Configuration: WinXP Sp1, XAMPP Version 1.5.1-beta3

I would have to say in the add site wizard step 1. If adus12 is correct the only thing entered in that step would be the 127.0.0.1 and nothing else.

I tried entering 127.0.0.1 in the wizard and it still doesn't work! I'm using JSAS on WinXP Pro SP2.
[EDIT] Not to worry, after trying 127.0.0.1, localhost and all the other possible variations, it's still not working. My browser DOES however recognise all the variations I've tried, so I'm not going to bother using Blogg-X.
Sorry, but it's too much like hard work, and that's exactly what it's supposed to avoid. Those of you who don't need a local configuration to test on, please continue to support this product, but it's really not for me.

Ok, I had the same problem, SOLUTION: - Open cmd and type ipconfig - write the IP Address down and use it to connect to the joomla site. Works perfect. Trebla  |

Well I have it set up and recognising localhost:85/Joomla using JSAS and firefox on winxp It will retrieve post titles but would not allow me to load them. I can't figure what the FTP details might be either. I can post a new article and delete that post but I can't load any old posts. Blog-x says 'nothing selected!
Any help on FTP issues as i would love to demo this to a client.

@davesp: You'll have to install IIS from your XP disc... 'Add/Remove Programs' in Control Panel, then 'Add/Remove Windows Components' button on the left, then select IIS, making sure that the FTP options are checked as well.
Configuration of the FTP server is done by right-clicking 'My Computer', and then 'Manage'. Then in the MMC, browse down to IIS and configure it there. You'll have to add a folder to the FTP root and point it to your JSAS folder.
Re localhost and 127.0.0.1 addresses, I've experienced that on several machines before. It seems to be a bit of a mystery... sometimes firewalls or AV packages can cause it too...

Thanks for that. I haven't had time to try all that yet. I put up a Joomla site on my server and demod on that but now I get the same trouble. I can read the titles but can't retrieve the posts. I'll try some more and report back. I suspect the Firewall (Zone Alarm). Do you happen to know which port Blog- X would use for FTP access?

Phillip: Any chance of a bit more detail for setting up FTP?
I can get to the Computer Management dialog, and I see Internet Information Services with sections Web Sites and FTP Sites. What do I do next?

p.s. I can create articles and include pictures already in wamp/site/images/stories, but it fails when i try to include a picture that's elsewhere on my PC such as Shared Pictures
