Just wanted to let everyone know that things are still going well with the coding for the next version of Blogg-X. I did take a couple nights off from coding because I was starting to go crazy, but have picked things up again and made some great progress. The new version will be a big step forward for Blogg-X.
Thanks...

I have been very actively working on the next version of Blogg-X. I figure I have about 60% of the code complete and still have alot to finish and test. I am still looking for some private beta testers so please email or PM me if interested.
Also, keep the suggestions and feature requests coming.
Thanks...

Please try this new mambot to see if it fixes your problems. I am slightly limited in the testing that I can do with this because all my installations are native english. Hopefully this will help those of you out. Please let me know the results in this thread in the forum. The new mambot can be downloaded here.
Please uninstall the previous version from your server and install the new one. The version should be listed as 0.85 Beta 2.
Thanks...

I am looking for some private beta testers for the future version of Blogg-X. Ideally it would be someone that has a non-production site to test with and has access to phpmyadmin. Also access to some type of VOIP or IM service would be great. Since I develop Blogg-X on my own and in my spare time there wont be any daily builds to deal with but I hope at least one weekly. At this stage I am still working on the GUI design but I commonly become tunnel visioned on a path that may not make the most sense. Having input at an earlier stage will hopefully make things progress faster and provide a better product.
If anyone is interested please email or PM me. I will be creating a private section of the forum for this purpose.
Thanks...

I believe I have corrected the FTP problem and have made things a little better. There is more user feedback now with regards to FTP transfers. Specifically it will tell you if the ftp address is incorrect, username or password incorrect and if it's unable to change to the "images/stories" directory entered in the settings window.
Hopefully this fix takes care of everyone and I didn't cause any other errors.
Downloads are here.
Note: The mambot does not need to be re-installed.
Thanks...

With the help of some forum members I have tracked down the problem. Basically users with correct FTP settings were getting a "FTP Connection Failure" indication when running the "Test Connection". This also prevented them from uploading any photos as well.
The problem is caused by the respective web site hosts not having FTP enabled in the PHP configuration. I will remove this requirement from Blogg-X and release a new version shortly.
Again thanks to everyone for the help!!

Two major bugs were identified by member merlinbrasil in the forums dealing with the 0.85 Beta of Blogg-X released earlier today. Specifically a problem with the "images/stories" path not being saved and a problem with the mambot when dealing with updates. I have corrected both of these problems and have uploaded the new files to the server.
If you downloaded the program earlier today please redownload the files and reinstall. The mambot needs to again be updated on your Joomla! site.
Thanks to merlinbrasil for pointing out the problem and I am sorry I missed this before release. I guess my beta testers were using the same default path for the "images/stories" that I was testing with.
Thanks...

I just posted all the site changes and Blogg-X 0.85 Beta is available for download.
The main change in this version is the addition of image support. The program allows you to browse to the image and you can specify the image parameters. Also the ability to hyperlink the image has been included.
Note: This version requires that you update the Blogg-X mambot on your site. Instructions can be found at the end of the installation program or in the README file. Click here to view the CHANGELOG.
The downloads can be found here.
Please post any problems or concerns in the forum.
Enjoy...

I have made most of the code modifications to Blogg-X to support the use
of images. I ran into a few snags along the way but believe I have most
of them worked out. I have released the current build to some private
beta testers and based on their results, and some minor fixes I still
need to complete, the version will be released this week.
Note: This post came from the current build...
Thanks...
